About Hagen von Kornbach
Hagen Ksawery Maurits von Kornbach

Born to a Polish mother and a German father.
Kornbach's upbringing, especially his language training, was influenced by his two grandmothers. After graduating from high school, he studied economics at Berlin's Humboldt University and took intensive lessons in Russian and English.
Then he went to a monastery near Poznan, where he stayed for two years and received lessons in Latin and Italian. He then studied mathematics and economics at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
The Polish poet and essayist Julia Hartwig and her brother the photographer Edward Hartwig had a particular influence on his work as an author and photographer.
From the beginning of the 80s he was active in the peace movement of the GDR.
When his safety could no longer be guaranteed, he was urged to leave the GDR in 1985.
From 1986 he headed a company based in London, which dealt with the "settlement of international affairs".
At the end of the 90s he retired from business life and lives as an author, translator, editor and photographer near Berlin.
